They're no fans of the paparazzi, and last week Cristiano Ronaldo and Irina Shayk were spotted trying to escape the shutterbugs in Madrid, Spain.

The soccer superstar and his lovely model girlfriend (who was careful not to flash the photogs) hopped into a snazzy white sports car and sped off.

Cristiano Ronaldo might be a little bit vain, but we can't actually believe that he's given his baby son exactly the same name as him!

According to reports, the hunky footballer reckons his new baby looks so much like his dad, that he's decided to name him after himself, you know, like you do.

It's now believed that Ronaldo must have hand picked a surrogate mother for his new arrival because he wanted a baby NOW, but probably didn't want all the hassle of finding the right woman and any future problems that might arise over custody.

If rumours are to be believed, the star was SO desperate for a baby that he even paid the surrogate $20 Million for her trouble… odd then that Cris get's this new baby, then swans off to the States with his model girlfriend Irina Shayk.

Cristiano Ronaldo has become the father of a baby boy, the Real Madrid footballer announced on his Twitter and Facebook accounts on Sunday.

The message on Ronaldo's Internet pages does not name the mother, but the Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha said she is a US citizen.

"It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become father to a baby boy. As agreed with the baby's mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship," the message read.

"No further information will be provided on this subject and I request everyone to fully respect my right to privacy (and that of the child) at least on issues as personal as these are," Ronaldo said.

The agency representing the player, Gestifute, confirmed the news, as did "a female friend of the family," Correio de Manha said in its online edition.
