Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy Announce Split on Twitter ‎

Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy have split after dating for almost five years.

Hollywood star Jim posted the news on Twitter, saying he wished actress and model Jenny "the very best".

The 48-year-old - who started romancing the blonde in December 2005 - tweeted: "Jenny and I have just ended our five-year relationship, I'm grateful for the many blessings we've shared and I wish her the very best!"

People reports that Jenny released a statement saying she was "so grateful" for her years with the actor, and that she would maintain her relationship with his 22-year-old daughter Jane.

"I will continue to be in his daughter's life and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart," said the 37-year-old, who has a seven-year-old son from a previous relationship.

Jim's spokesperson confirmed the break-up, telling People: "Jim and Jenny have recently decided to end their five-year relationship."

Jim Carrey Becomes a Grandfather

Jim Carrey is a new grandfather and he took to his Twitter account to share a pic of his baby grandson.

"The Insider" confirmed that Carrey's singer/songwriter daughter Jane Carrey, 22, and her musician hubby Alex Santana welcomed Jackson Riley Santana at 12:28 a.m. on Friday. The newborn weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Carrey tweeted a photo of the adorable baby, writing: "Jackson Riley Santana, My Grandson, Born today! This is what 7lbs.11oz. of California dynomite looks like!"
